If a Tooth is Knocked Out…

Step 1 if the tooth is dirty quickly wash it but don’t touch the root.

Step 2 replace the tooth immediately and rush to the dentist

OR carry tooth to the Dentist in a glass of milk

OR in plastic wrap

If these are unavailable, in your mouth

But best of all to prevent tooth injury: Wear a properly fitting mouthguard

REMEMBER

  • More than 1 in 10 children suffer from injuries to their front teeth.
  • Most teeth replaced within 15 to 30 minutes become re-attached and function normally.
  • A properly fitting mouthguard will prevent injuries to teeth and also reduce the number of face and neck injuries.
  • Copy a Dental Emergency number from your telephone book.
